I guess you could say that from a very early age I have always loved and been fascinated by numbers. In my formative years my skills developed whilst negotiating the family viewing timetable each evening to incorporate as much quality TV time before having to go to bed.
After leaving college, I began work as an Office Junior in a busy Credit Services department for a National Vehicle Rental company. During my 13 years working there, I crunched a lot of numbers and poured over a lot of accounts. It was at this point that I began to wonder what it was that went into making those numbers and preparing those accounts, so I left and went to work in a local accountants.
Whilst leaning the accountancy ropes, and studying towards higher qualifications, I was also applying my skills and knowledge to the family business. The natural progression for me therefore was to come and work for Accounted For full-time and help this business grow and prosper.
When not crunching the numbers, I enjoy Arts and Culture and going to see live music and comedy. I would probably classify myself as a bit of a geek, but can so far say that I have not attended any conventions or got dressed up as my favourite fantastical characters (yet).
As a young 17-year-old I packed up my troubles in my old kit bag and heading off to the Army. My dream was to drive big trucks, my reality was that I had a long and rewarding career as a Military Clerk.
After leaving the services I worked with many businesses providing administration and accounts support. I also studied for a degree in Applied Psychology as a mature student, whilst working full -time, and raising a family of teenagers. You could say I like a challenge. There are no problems only solutions, I like to find innovative and effective ways of working.
Nothing much has changed apart from I am now a business owner, providing Virtual PA support where needed. My vision is to help business owners get back to doing the things they love; I can safely bet that administration tasks are not in that category. I love my job and taking away some of the stress of running a business. You will be surprised at how many administration tasks can be outsourced, freeing up your valuable time.
When I am not in my office, I can usually be found is some muddy field listening to live music with Richard. I am excited to say 2023 will be my first download festival, more to follow ...
